Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, Rwanda - Your Rwanda Adventure Begins Welcome to Rwanda! Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your expert driver-guide from Nalimana Africa Guides. Embark on a scenic transfer to the Onomo Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital. After settling in, enjoy a delightful dinner and unwind in comfort before your exciting adventure begins.
Day 2: Journey to Buhoma, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Gateway to Gorilla Trekking Start your day with a hearty breakfast before beginning your scenic drive across the border into Uganda. This journey, lasting approximately 5.5 hours, offers stunning views of Rwanda’s countryside. Arrive at Buhoma Haven Community Lodge in Uganda, where a delicious lunch awaits. This afternoon, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa people, the indigenous forest dwellers of Bwindi. Enjoy a captivating presentation about their bush skills, culture, and traditions, offering a unique glimpse into their way of life. Afterward, return to your lodge for a relaxing dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience After a hearty breakfast, prepare for one of the world’s most iconic wildlife encounters. Head to the Uganda Wildlife Authority Bwindi Park Headquarters for a detailed briefing on your gorilla trek, before embarking on your adventure into the dense forest. Your trek may last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas' location, but every moment will be worth it. Experience the thrill of encountering the critically endangered Mountain Gorillas, with only around 1,000 remaining in the world. After the trek, enjoy lunch before continuing your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will track the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. Dinner and overnight stay at Parkview Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzi Forest - Primate Exploration After an early breakfast, travel to the Kalinzi Forest Reserve for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. With over a 95% success rate, this trek promises an incredible encounter with Uganda’s chimpanzees, while also learning about the conservation efforts led by organizations like the Jane Goodall Foundation. After your chimpanzee experience, return to Kigali, Rwanda, where you will arrive in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight at the Onomo Hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Arusha, Tanzania - Safari in the Land of Serengeti Start your day with breakfast before transferring to Kigali Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed and driven to the Tulia Hotel in Arusha for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, setting the stage for your upcoming Tanzania safari adventure.
Day 6: Explore Tarangire National Park - The Baobab Wonderland After breakfast, head out on an exciting game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its towering baobab trees and large populations of elephants. The park also boasts lions, leopards, and diverse wildlife, all gathering near the Tarangire River, the only permanent water source in the region. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the wild before continuing to Eileen’s Trees Inn for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 7: Discover the Serengeti National Park - Iconic Safari Moments Embark on a journey into Serengeti National Park, one of the world’s most iconic safari destinations. Known for its incredible wildlife and the annual Great Migration, the Serengeti is home to Africa’s Big Five. Spend the day on thrilling game drives, encountering lions, giraffes, cheetahs, hippos, and other magnificent animals. After a full day of exploration, retire to Serengeti Katikati Camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.
Day 8: Explore the Serengeti - Morning & Afternoon Game Drives Rise early for another exciting day of game drives in the heart of the Central Serengeti. Witness predators in action as they hunt during the prime viewing hours. With plenty of opportunities to spot diverse wildlife, return to Serengeti Katikati Camp each evening to relax and enjoy delicious meals.
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater Adventure - A UNESCO World Heritage Site After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, known as the “Garden of Eden.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an exceptional opportunity to see abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor before heading to Marera Lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 10: Departure - End of Your Ultimate African Adventure On the final day of your journey, enjoy a scenic drive back to Arusha for lunch before heading to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure, taking with you unforgettable memories of your Uganda & Tanzania safari, gorilla trekking, and primate exploration.
